I agree with your remark about a whistler blowers. After congress finds Holder in contempt some people will start to feel the heat. Phone calls will be made to Issa for immunity. Then get out the popcorn.
There was such a huge amount of democrat campaign money a year ago. Now the money has dried up. That reinforces my hunch that Fast and Furious entailed US guns to Mexican drug lords in exchange for drug money to US political campaigns.
