Actually, while the president himself, and by extension, the executive branch, cannot be forced to act, using a ‘writ of mandamus’, which was settled in Marbury v. Madison (1810); there is a good argument that can be made that they can be forced to *not* act.

For instance, Obama has directed ICE to not provide citizenship information to Arizona, when Arizona asks if a suspect is an illegal alien, so Arizona cannot force them to give that information. However, Arizona might set up a bureaucratic process *prior* to asking ICE, in which those individuals who are citizens can quickly establish their identity, with minimum effort.

And those who cannot establish their identity “take longer” before they are reported to ICE. And there are lots of ways Arizona can do this.

One that comes to mind is to publish on the Internet the pictures of people who cannot establish their citizenship, “in hopes that the public can help identifying them” so they can be quickly released.

This is in no way prejudicial, as they are not accused of any crime, only need “help” in establishing their identities. And even if they volunteered a name as their own, the bureaucracy could identify them as “John Doe” and “Jane Doe”.

Its not treason but it is an impeachable offense since he swore to uphold the Constitution and the Laws of the Land. The wussy Pubbies, afraid of what the New York Times might write about them will, however, do as they always do...NOTHING!

re: “Obama admin refusing to enforce Federal Law? Is this not treason?”

Absolutely correct! What happened to, “I swear to uphold the Constitution of the United States. . .”???

The President and his entire administration is violating their sworn promise to uphold the laws of the United States. They have stated so publicly several times. What more does congress need to impeach?

If the president or any other federal offical has the power to REFUSE to enforce federal laws duly passed by congress and signed by previous U.S. Presidents - then what is the point of having laws to begin with?? Can’t he just refuse to observe any law he wants now? He has lied to the American people in his taking of the “oath” of office.
