It will be one year, in July, since I had 2 surgeries and I am now off all meds and back to working out at the gym 4-5 days a week.
Celebrex caused your stroke? That’s terrible; I hope they gave you compensation for your problems. Damn.
I was on Celebrex and thought it was one of the best drugs ever. Then it attacked my stomach lining and gave me a bleeding ulcer so they stopped prescribing it to me.
Unfortunately, they gave me Bextra instead which provided no benefit along with a new round of ulcers and then they took me off that. Wasn’t soon after that the dire side effects of Bextra were known.
Celebrex, Bextra, Vioxx are all in the same family with Celebrex left standing as the only one still on the market.
My doctor told me my problem is that they didn’t give me something for my stomach so it could handle Celebrex. He said that something like protonix is good to take with Celebrex but since I’d already had two ulcers, they wouldn’t prescribe the combo to me.
They were happy to prescribe any narcotic they had though, Oxycontin, the faster acting oxycodone and hydrocodone which when taken over a long period of time turns you into a junkie which is far worse that Celebrex does but the worse was the fentanyl patches.
