The 40 cal ammo went nowhere near the US government in that quantity. The House Appropriations committee cut it out of the budget and provided a quantity more along the lines that DHS usually purchases.
Having heard and read hundreds of millions (approaching near 700 million rounds during two separate purchases), yet do not have actual numbers of rounds purchased, does anyone have the absolute numbers purchased?
