Glenn Beck drops his name from Web network, promises media 'revolution'
CNN International ^ | June 18,2012 | Steve Krakauer

Hugely successful and often controversial, Glenn Beck is a man full of complexities.

He points the finger in his new book "Cowards" but calls for "Restoring Love" in his upcoming rally. He jokes about being "Unelectable" on his comedy tour, but his new studio in Dallas includes a replica Oval Office for his mock presidential addresses.

Now, the media mogul is dropping his name from the online TV network based on his personal brand. GBTV will be merged with TheBlaze.com, the Beck-owned but independently operated news and opinion website. The entire network will be called TheBlaze.

That all-star team includes some unlikely executives who have joined the Beck team. There's Betsy Morgan, formerly CEO of The Huffington Post and before that an executive at CBS News. There's Joel Cheatwood, formerly a senior vice president at CNN and Fox News. Also Kraig Kitchin, formerly founder of Premiere Radio Networks, and Carolyn Polke, who was a consultant at Accenture.

"Sometimes the truth hurts," said Beck. "And if you'd read the book 'Cowards,' you'd see President Obama is not the only one, and it's certainly not a Republican and Democrat book. It is a human problem. Cowardice is a human problem."

While Beck isn't outwardly supporting either of the two major candidates in the 2012 election, he does have a prediction.

"If things would remain stable, I would say we are looking at a loss for the president around the size of, if not greater than, Jimmy Carter," he said. "Americans are tired. They are tired of the finger-pointing. They are tired of the excuses. They're tired of it on both sides."

And you only need to put in codes for Pay stations.
Things like Dailymotion or FoxBusiness are added from the “Channel Store” straight to the Roku.

Wow... THANK YOU to all of you who helped me (finally) understand how Roku works. At long last, I think I finally get it. Guess I'm firmly in the "laggard" category, huh? lol

I'll head over to Best Buy one of these days and will get going on it, and I'll sign up for GBTV.com. Glad to hear Glenn's TV world is expanding...

Does anyone have an opinion on which is best: NetFlix or Amazon Prime? (I've had a regular Amazon.com account for over a decade)

Some friends of ours subscribe to Amazon Prime and love it - they watch lots of old TV episodes and new and old movies.

Looking at the Amazon.com/prime list of videos... looks like I can watch (ie) Downton Abbey - all of Season One for free (?).

My hubby likes Netflix but I like Amazon Prime.
When you sign up for Prime, you not only get the videos but also they upgrade you to 2 day supersaver shipping on Amazon purchases. (I just received a Korean indoor grill that I ordered Saturday night, shipped free) Last I looked, it was 80.00 a year.

When I went to Amazon and put in Downton Abbey, it showed 0.00 to watch season 1.

any "emasculation of males" has been done by males themselves...

American males in particular, have bought the Playboy philosophy and it was goodbye to boy scouts, altar boys,Annapolis,etc....

you can't serve two gods....either you're morally upright and steadfast or you are not...

so I think we'll see more self emasculation of males.....sorry to say...

Perfect storm, all of the above. ‘Girl power’ in the schools overshadows all. Even most of the Disney movies now are about female super heroines; Tangled, Brave, blah blah... Bad for boys and boyhood.
