In a revolt against Romney, at least 40 more national convention delegates asked to join 123 previous plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the Republican National Committee, and their attorney said hundreds more may soon follow suit.
The first 123 delegates, all from the 9th Circuit, sued the RNC, its Chairman Rince Priebus, and every state party chairman in the 9th Circuit in Federal Court on Monday, demanding the right to vote for the candidate of their choice on every ballot at the Republican National Convention, including the first.
The delegates claim the party violated federal law by forcing them to sign loyalty affidavits, under threat of perjury, to vote for Mitt Romney, though he is not yet the official nominee.

I'm voting Romney.
Newt/Walker would cream Obama. You have to wonder if the gop has done any real polling. They have to know that a lot of conservatives won’t vote for romney. Maybe they would rather have obama then a conservative president.
Night all.
It’s not a “revolt” it’s the Ron Paul delegates. They claimed to support whichever candidate was winning the popular vote, and now they will sue to try to get out of their obligation to vote for the candidate they were pledged to support, for which they got elected.
Grown men and women are claiming that they were forced to sign something? Of course they weren’t, it was voluntary, as is joining any political Party.
They want a do-over. Or never intended to keep their word.
I’ll bet even the 9th Circuit says that adults who sign contracts have to follow through.
Is Romney our King now?
The rule of law is “king.” Grown ups who sign contracts don’t whine and try to unilaterally break the contract later.
The GOP sure has a knack.
(((eye roll)))

That’s hilarious. So, what you are saying is, politicians are not grownups?
Barack Obama is so thoroughly hideous that even Mitt Romney could walk away with the presidential election in a near Reaganesque landslide. If Obama hoped to win, as an incumbent he needs to be way ahead in the polls now. He isn’t, and typically undecideds break heavily in favor of the challenger.
However, discontent with Romney may force concession promises from him in order to get a smooth GOP approval of his nomination rather than the dust raising, bruising battle he does not want in the news. Such as a more conservative VP candidate than he’d otherwise countenance.
Romney is SUCH A LOSER, that if he does
not voluntarily remove himself, the DELEGATE
should refuse to vote for the backstabbing poser.
Bad News!!!!!!!!!
Romney is NOT a conservative and CONSERVATIVES
will not vote for a poser ETCH=a-sketch.
ROMNEY = OBAMA = ROMNEYCARE FOR YOU = OBAMACARE FOREVER
DUMP WILLARD FOR WALKER !
JUST SAY NO TO SOCIALIST RINOS !
When they have a good eyeful of the Obama disaster that sleepwalking heads them towards... well, let’s say the voting booth is private and for all the chesty thumping nobody can see what they actually did.
ROMNEY cheated. Ignoring the backstabbing against
Gov. Palin on the EVE of Election 2008,
ROMNEY cheated this year.
Romney did NOT win IOWA.
ROMNEY IS A DAMN CHEAT.
NO TO ROMNEY.
Please leave Walker in Wisconsin. I’ll likely want him there as I may well be moving there for the sake of taking a job.
No, you said that. Politicians take oaths, they don’t sign contracts.
This lawsuit is about a voluntary association, the Republican Party. It is not in any way about “politicians.” it’s about people who volunteered to join a political party when there were others available and no party affiliation is mandatory.
The Republican Party has rules. Expecting people who join our Party to follow those rules is not “intimidation” or “disenfranchisement.”
In Texas, our State law imposes some rules and the rest come from our delegates to the RPT convention. Before the candidates stood for nomination at our Congressional Fistrict meetings lat week, the rules were read. Anyone who didn’t want to follow our RPT rules shouldn’t have run.
A very few men and women want to nullify the votes of people who volunteered to vote in the Republican Party Primaries.
The Backstabbing Romney Team changed RULES to exclude
candidates and LIED using the media.
THERE IS NO NEED FOR LOYALTY TO A CHEATER AND BACKSTABBER
AND TRAITOR LIKE Mr. ROMNEYCARE.
