Republican Mitt Romney paused Saturday during a campaign bus stop in Pennsylvania to touch base with Christian conservatives.
Obama's health care plan "attacks freedoms" and "raising taxes attacks freedoms," Romney said. The Obama administration's decision on contraceptive coverage "attacks our first freedom - religious freedom," he said.
He credited former rival Rick Santorum with touting three "best predictors" for happiness and good finances: be married, graduate from high school and get a job.
Santorum, a return visitor to the Coalition conference, said he has "no doubt" Romney understands the "centrality of family."
The former Pennsylvania senator urged the audience to help Romney win.

Of course I meant the most liberal republican available.
Santorum thought that Reagan was a bit of a right wing extremist, but Santorum was still supporting liberal republicans at the time.
Santorum, like Romney, switched to pro-life to run for office in 1990, in 1996, Santorum was endorsing removing pro-life from the GOP platform.
Maybe he doesnt want 4 more years of Obama?
But after 4 years of Romney, will we want 4 more years?
The only, and I do mean only, reason I am considering voting for him is the simple fact that he ain’t Obama. Another wasted opportunity. I don’t know who chokes more, the GOP or LeBron James.
Way to go, GOP-E. Way to freakin’ go.
For the record, I voted for Santorum in the Texas Primary last month when Romney was the only candidate still in the race.
Texas was late in the cycle in 2008 as well, Alan Keyes got my vote then over Romney-McCain-Huckabeeyeeyeeyeeeee.
Newt Gringrich supports and is campaigning for Romney as well.
Has Santorum campaigned side by side with Romney yet? That would be a mistake after all the slimely campaign tactics Romney used against him in the Primaries.
And what do you know about Obama?
The anger that I see on this website truly amazes me.
Santorum is tight with the Vichy Republicans and does what he's told, like when he took several weeks off to "file his taxes" just when he was scoring big against Bishop Romney.
He'll get a nice fat client list or be the VP in return for his showing that he's a solid Vichy Curr and willing to do exactly the same thing he did during the entire time he was in office which is to go along to get along.
Yep - Obama's term in the WH and his actions have deranged a lot of folks. I think it's more fear for the Nation and a sense of helplessness driving most of it - they want the best so bad they won't settle for the least-damaging. They seem to be more intent on destroying Obama's competitor and ensuring the worst happens and our Nation is finally taken away. Almost like a person disposing of all his possessions before committing suicide - born of despair and seems to make sense at the time....
The anger towards Romney is what amazes me. Definitely not my first choice, but clearly now the only choice. I went to his web site and his current positions are in line with most of what FR folks believe. Yes, I know he’s changed positions before, but this is now and his positions are quite public. Two very important things, in my mind, to consider. Supreme court justices. Yes, I know his history in Massachusetts. My guess is he picked them based on who he could get through the nominating process. Also, our brave men and women in the military. Who truly cares more about our country and our military more? Obama or Romney? This country has taken a big hit to the gut. I don’t think it can take one to the groin (another 4 years of Obama).
Maybe not, but it certainly means that Santorum trusts Romney to follow the platform that Romney has outlined. This includes: Kill Obamacare, support Right to Life, low tax rates, less government, less regulation, and more freedom. I agree with Rick, and I'll vote for that any day, too.
None of these people stand on principles! Santorum has to support Romney so if/when he gets elected he doesn’t get left out in the cold when he tries to get his agenda accomplished. Its all nothing more than kissing ass with these people. Politicians are disgusting, they grovel in anything that gets them what they want. Let’s not act surprised and shocked when supposed conservatives stand behind people like Mittens. Politicians are in it for the money and the power. Not a single one of them gives a flying F about John Q Citizen.
It’s the “burn down the village to save it” syndrome. Many here truly WANT another 4 years of Obama, with the totally deluded thinking, that after Obama totally destroys the US as we know it, then people will be more likely to vote for a “super-conservative” candidate. What they don’t realize is that after they allow and cheerfully watch the village burning, all that will be left is ashes. After Obama puts in more socialists in the Courts, including the Supreme Court, implements the communist healthcare and a few other programs in his next term, when he doesn’t even have to pretend, it will be pretty much impossible to go back.
Some have this notion that a Republican Congress can stop him, but just look at his record of governing by executive orders.
Anyone with two brain cells to rub together should be able to see that the only way to save the Republic is to get out and vote for Romney and Republicans in Congress. Obama must not be given another 4 years.
“The anger that I see on this website truly amazes me.”
I second that, presuming it means anger over Romney. I personally don’t like the guy myself, especially being a MA RINO.
Maybe another RINO president will continue the nations slow slide to the gutter. But another term of Obama I’m very convinced will mean a quick flush down the toilet of our Constitution/Republic replaced by a Stalin dictator style government.
Obama has already given a good preview by sidestepping congress and the Constitution with his recent illegals exec order. If the voters allow him to get by with this, he will know he can do it anytime he wants.
I really think the economy will improve with Romney. Conservatives & Tea Party’ers need to keep hammering at this guy and the RINO party to keep them in line.
This anger is almost as destructive as Obama himself as not voting at all represents a vote for Obama and the end to our freedoms. I see a vote for Romney as another chance to get the country back before it’s too late.
Which of any of the Republican candidates made a commitment to this? Sorry, but that genie is out of the bottle and no Republican who seriously wants to win an election is going to expend the overwhelming amount of political capital trying to put it back in.
RS is pimping Romney because he is looking to 2016 or 2024. RS already clearly said just a few months ago that Romney would be worse than Obama.
I saw Romney on CBS today saying he wouldn't rescind Obama’s executive order on amnesty and he would replace it with a sweeping amnesty bill. Now having lied his way to the nomination Romney is running to the left.
McCain was on NBC saying the same thing, that Obama's action is a half measure and should be replaced with a full amnesty bill.
Work visas to illegals with high unemployment is stupid.
I dont know who chokes more, the GOP or LeBron James.
>Way to go, GOP-E. Way to freakin go.
I understand your frustration, but it is misdirected.
Mitt may be the current standard bearer for the GOP E, but they did not nominate him.
The voters did, and that is a fact.
I know. It’s me just going through my stages of grief....sigh....
>me just going through my stages of grief....sigh...
You and me both brother.
