If We Took the Constitution Seriously, Obama Would Be Impeached

If the citizens of this Republic still took the Constitution seriously, Obama would be impeached for his decision to unilaterally grant amnesty to certain illegal aliens.

Article 1, Sec. 8 of the Constitution, which enumerates the power of Congress, states that "Congress shall have the Power To... establish an [sic] uniform Rule of Naturalization."

Congress has passed numerous laws pertaining to immigration and naturalization, including laws requiring the deportation of illegals.

The role of the President, according to Article II, Sec. 3, is to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." Obama's refusal to execute Congress's immigration laws (or, for that matter, Congress's Defense of Marriage Act) is an impeachable offense.

Article II, Sec. 4 states that the President "shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for... Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors."

The deliberate failure to enforce valid immigration law and allow hordes of foreigners to live and work in the U.S. is, arguably, "treason," and doing so in an election year to appease Hispanic voters could certainly be considered "bribery."

He must be impeached NOW. Also, if anyone think that number of illegals getting defacto citizenship is a mere 800000....think again. That is a phony number like the “12 million” they have been saying for 15 years. I am sure the number is more like 10 million...not 800K.

Besides his not showing proof that he is eligible to hold the office of president, how about this one? Of course, this would be offense #50 or thereabout.

“Obama is negotiating a trade pact that would constitute a judicial authority higher than even the U.S. Supreme Court that could overrule federal court rulings applying U.S. law to foreign companies. That is unconstitutional. The U.S. cannot be allowed to enter a treaty that would abrogate our Constitution.”

It would help to have more than one political party in Washington.

A point well taken and one that not enough people are aware of!

Additionally, we should never have allowed the presidency to become an entry level position!!!

Just an extension of ‘Free Trade Agreements’ that Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II were so found of. They all over rode our immigration law and turned disputes regarding visas over to the unelected bureaucracy of the WTO.

Unfortunately we are a republic and the a$$holes we elected will not do what is necessary. What the hell do we do now?

Thomas Jefferson answered your question.

My statement stands. Lincoln trashed the Constitution repeatedly - suspended habeas corpus, instituted a draft, taxed income for the first time, etc. - yet, his defenders give him a pass.

How is what Lincoln did different from what 0bambi is doing? And America is more divided than anytime since The War of Yankee Agression.

Seriously? How is what Lincoln did different from what Jefferson Davis did with less authority? If you want to refight the Civil War at every opportunity don't expect to win over any converts.

Forget CWI and look at the present. If you accept 0bambi’s trashing of the Constitution, there will be a CWII. And whose fault will it be - the usurper or those who see nothing wrong in what the usurper is doing?

There would not be a conviction because of the Democrats in the Senate.

Repubs also saw to it Billy Clinton wasn't impeached.
