“Under the Boardwalk” - Drifters 1964
Of course, this song could have been sung about any of the NJ beach towns with a boardwalk.

Venice, Calif. also features what it calls a "boardwalk" along its beach, but it's made of asphalt, and if you want to get under it, you'll have to dig a tunnel.

No, I’m talking about the real boardwalks that the NJ beach towns have, Atlantic City, Ocean City, Wildwood and a few Northern Jersey towns.

The song was written about Atlantic City, but I preferred Ocean City.
