“But because there are deadly aspects of warfare carried out by 98 lb. women in clean clothes in air conditioned rooms, we are all forgetting that if our GPS goes away, our satellites go away, our precision munitions go away, our stealth airplanes and helicopter gunships go away, warfare will suddenly become very primitive. It may end up looking like Omaha Beach, Peleliu or Chosin.

And at that point, the composition of the units in the fight is going to be very important, and it will be too late to do anything about it.”

1. I don't know too many 98 lb, women, unless you are talking about anorexic models.

2, You do realize women survive war, including civilian women who were victims of the very personal Allied bombings (nothing like watching liquid fire flowing down the air raid stairs in your direction, or buildings blowing up as you are collecting food and water, or Russians looking at you and saying, “Komm hier Fraulein.) and the Russian Occupation of Berlin. Gee, wonder how that happened? Be careful with your response, female members of my family will come after and I don't think the Marines will save you. ; )

3. As long as the Military weeds out the pansies and allows the American Trooper to be the American Trooper there will be hell to pay.

BTW, I think this little gal proves my point. Go Airborne!

Chogal, the issue isn't how many 98 pound women there are. For the sake of discussion, I will make it 120 lbs.

The issue is the undeniable difference in bone structure, muscle development and hormone content between a 120 lb. male and a 120 lb. female.

It isn't a case of the military brass weeding out pansies, because I don't view any woman who would be motivated enough to want to attend Ranger School as a pansy in any sense of the word.

It is a case of military brass allowing a less capable human being for the mission into the Rangers ahead of a less capable human being for the sake of something that has nothing whatsoever to do with whether it is good for the unit's capabilities or not.
