All of this goes back to the 60’s when everyone was reading that stuff. Actually, they still do go to see the movies and buy them.

There's a thread at F.R. with multiple thousands of posts and ongoing yet today, called the "Hobbit Hole".

It may have started out about Hobbits, I don't really know but now they talk about everything.
