On June 9th, Kanye West’s Air Yeezy 2 Sneakers will go on sale for about $245. But one lucky (crazy) eBay bidder decided to pay a premium price to get his shoes early. User pinoyako4life paid $90,300 for a pair of West’s new sneakers.
The shoes, of course, will be extremely hard to get once they hit store shelves this weekend. TMZ reports that people are already camping outside of stores for the shoe’s release on Saturday. Still, $90,000 seems a little excessive.
USA Today speculates that the ridiculously expensive auction may just be a publicity stunt. Other pairs of Air Yeezy 2 sneakers are selling for a few thousand on eBay. So why did this auction get so crazy? Did Kanye West pay $90,000 for his own pair of shoes just to create hype? Maybe it was some sort of performance art…
But let’s forget about $90,000 for a second. What makes the Air Yeezy 2 worth $245?

No he didn't, it says right there on the eBay page that user pinoyako4life is the seller, and that the buyer is "a***1 ( 3 )". Typical media illiteracy.

I’m pretty sure I would never buy from someone that has an Ebay name that seems to be a take-off on Pinnochio!
I believe the seller’s name breaks down to - pinoy (filipino) + ako (Tagalog for “I” or “me”) + 4life.
At least that is the way I read it.

I highly doubt a young black kid paid the 90 grand. It was either Kanye West himself or a rich white guy trying to be cool. Now if Kanye West bought these than he is more a brilliant business man then I even thought. 90 grand is great advertisement as obviously this story is going to give a ton of exposure to the new shoes. Plus what is the difference in buying a pair of sneakers for 240 when you have woman all the time buying purses for 400 dollars all the time. I don't see you bashing those folks.
