As I wrote in #45, I got this “direct from the horses’ mouth”, as it were, by a former Army Warrant Officer brought over after the riots by the LAPD to act as a liaison-translator between the city and the Korean community.
He had worked a listening post on the DMZ, so he was not only very proficient at Korean, but also understood their cultural subtleties.
However, the LAPD talked to him first, and told him to not translate, but to give messages from them to the Koreans and to the city government (who apparently they regarded as imbeciles).
So nothing of that sort will ever be published outside of this.
