I saw some other commenters upthread remark about this Nixon thing being covered on some other Sunday shows, that I don’t get here in the swamps.

This is not a coinky-dink so I agree with you. The Nixon thing was probably something silly Valerie Jarret came up with...”Hey, let’s get Woodward and Bernstein to revive the Nixon thing, get the American public’s mind on just how evil the Republicans can be, take the heat off of us and our perfect plan to leak stuff to make us look good.”

Or to that effect.

Again, the commenters said after the article, over and over....AT LEAST NIXON RESIGNED. Nobody seemed to be buying the meme that Nixon was so horribly bad.

Somebody call the Republicans and have them use that talking point cause how damn evil could he be if he stepped up and resigned without prompt, compared to, just throwing it out there, CLINTON?

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out. She wanted to throw a wrench into the public's consciousness.

PUBLIC: BO stinks.

JARRETT: Oh, I'll fix that. Let me get out my talking points:

JARRETT: Nixon was Republican. Nixon was evil. Watergate bad. Nixon bad. Republicans bad.

JARRETT: Here's another one. GW Bush: Republican. Bush most hated ex-President. Republicans bad.

The Washington post is celebrating (groan) the 40th anniversary of Watergate tomorrow.

How transparently obvious. Never let a crisis (or an event we can exploit) go to waste, don’t ya know.
