Begging the question of personhood at conception vs birth might seem like a clever tactic, but it just makes you appear to not understand the issues involved.

Well, let’s tally this up.

The law of God doesn’t matter.

The natural law doesn’t matter.

The stated principles of our nation’s charter, the Declaration of Independence, don’t matter.

The Constitution’s statement of purpose doesn’t matter.

The explicit words of the Fifth Amendment don’t matter.

All that matters is the opinion of an anonymous poster on Free Republic that the framers of the Fourteenth Amendment didn’t intend their explicit words to mean what they mean, and that therefore unborn persons aren’t really persons at all, constitutionally-speaking.

The obvious result? The status quo, which is abortion on demand.
