Today, we learn that the veteran’s name is David Willoughby, the son of Naples, Florida Tea Party founder Barry Willoughby. Early this evening, he released an email statement concerning his arrest and detainment which was sent by his father to Jan Morgan, an Associated Press Award winning veteran television journalist.
In relating his experience, he said, “My name is Dave Willoughby. I am the one in the video.”
“Without being told what I had done, I was handcuffed and escorted off premise. Placed in a squad car and taken to a police station. I asked if I should have my rights read to me and was told "You're not being arrested." My personal property was taken from me, I was fingerprinted, mug shot taken and locked in a dark jail cell, lights off, still handcuffed, “said Mr. Willoughby.
Willoughby went to say, “I sat in that jail cell, looking out of a meshed wire window, at a large American flag flying in the background. Where am I? How can this be happening? What did I do wrong? I prayed for strength. When I swore the oath to protect and defend the Constitution, I never realized until recently, how vulnerable our precious freedoms actually are.”
“I did nothing wrong, “said Willoughby. “There were literally hundreds of cameras at this event. I challenge all media to find one shred of evidence, which would support the actions of the Milwaukee PD officers.”

Why was he detained?

Sue the ignorant gestapo and the jurisdiction. The cops have gone overboard and need to be reeducated and reined in.
There were union guys bellowing through megaphones and banging drums at pro-Walker rallies last year, but they had little impact because there were so many folks there and the atmosphere was vibrant.
Dave showed up with just his sign and his unamplified voice and caused a tizzy, because there were so few people there and the atmosphere was somnolent.
In other words, he was probably arrested out of pure frustration that no one cares about the unions anymore.
The law does not require the police to wait until a fight starts to take action.
However, once he was removed from the immediate area, there is a dubious right to detain him further, hold him, book him, etc.
There is only one thing to do. Sue.
Claim $500,000 and the city and their insurance company will settle for $10,000 to $50,000 very quickly.
Sounds as though he may have a good case for false arrest, notwithstanding his claim that the police stated that he was not under arrest. The word “arrest” is not some sort of talismanic word; the actions of the police, and the fact that he was forcibly restrained and apparently not at liberty to leave, may better define what is, and is not, an arrest. False arrest, false imprisonment, violation of First Amendment rights...could be a nice payday.

Arresting someone legally protesting on private property or public property is a lot different from keeping the clan and the naacp away from each other. What if a man had a racist tattoo on his forehead and wanted to walk into a place of business run by blacks. Could the cops legally stop him from going in? Wouldn’t that be the same as the cops beating the hell out of black protestors because they tried to go into a Birmingham diner?
One of the problems in this country is too many people fail to see the lines the cops are constantly crossing.

The police involved will have to come up with something prior to the video rolling, because what was filmed looked like harrassment on the cop’s part. Of course the Marine set the crowd up, and they fell right in.
GRETA seemed uninterested in his plight when her eyes glazed over. Hannity and Malkin at least have a heartbeat. Maybe someone who cares will take up the story.
In my opinion, if he had been “of color”, he would not have been confronted.
The first thing to do is take away the umbrella of ‘public servant’ unions. The next thing to do is make all ‘public servants’ liable for citizen private suits, no excuses for “I was only doing my duty”. This shows how sick and demented people can make a living off other citizens. This case is not one where lawful activity was being violated. Wake up all you military people to the fact that there are abnormal government actions in the USA even at the local jurisdictions.

Well 0bama came out with this edict that the SS could arrest anyone at a political rally that was not being favorable...remember that? Well I guess the democRAT thugs have taken this to heart and tried it out...and so far...no big stink other than on the Conservative formats....

I like it when he said he had a right to peacefully protest, the cop saids “Bullsh#*!” Hey, if I sued....I’d wanna settle for more than $10,000 or $50,000. Those leading the recall should be ashamed of themselves...GD liberals.....they make my ass sick!
