Economy: President Obama has been on the job for nearly three and a half years, but the White House says bad news on jobs is George W. Bush's fault. Time to own up to your own record, Mr. President.
It was the most tepid job growth seen in America in a year, with fewer than 70,000 jobs added for May less than half what economists expected.
On top of that, March and April's combined job growth was revised downward by almost 50,000. The unemployment rate is again going in the wrong direction, from April's 8.1% to 8.2% in May.
In response to the jobs report, the Dow industrials plunged more than 274 points, or 2.2%, the index's worst day of the year and falling into negative territory for 2012.
Welcome to the Obama "recovery."
The White House says this economy isn't really the president's responsibility. Its take on what the Washington Post called a "dismal U.S. jobs report" as "businesses dramatically scaled back hiring," was this from Council of Economic Advisers Chairman Alan Krueger:
"Today we learned that the economy has added private sector jobs for 27 straight months" as if lukewarm net job growth that's actually slower than the growth in the labor force should be a cause to break out the champagne in the biggest economy in the world.
Instead of blaming its failed trillion-dollar Keynesian stimulus, plus at least another trillion taking over the country's health-insurance system, the White House disgracefully points a finger at its predecessor.

Under George Bush we had Steve Jobs, Johnny Cash and Bob Hope.
Under Obama Barack we have no jobs,no cash and no hope.

Communist textbook. The 1st Secretaries of the People’s Party have always blamed the West for their failures.
I was in the same position, as your daughter, she needs to pick up Guerilla Marketing for Job Hunters and follow the principles in that book. I got hired 3 weeks after reading it, if you need any help on advice or tips about a job search feel free to message me, I got hired by being unconventional job boards don’t cut it.
And all this time I thought it was still Hoover’s fault.
what do these clowns claim that Bush actually DID to cause all this grief? There is the 2008 financial crisis but there is no way to pin that on George Bush since it was due to bad loans pushed by liberals. And Bush’s admin tried to do something about it but liberals wouldnt stand for it. Bush went along with a stupid bailout but that by itself didnt cause all of this unemployment
The liberals own all of this - every bit if it - the bailouts including GM with its bloated unions, the financial crisis, the high unemployment, all of it.
Obama owns the portion he caused which includes the absurd stimulus bill, Obamacare, shutdown of the Gulf oil fields, gasoline on the unrest in the middle east and his relentless attacks on capitalism.
I don’t blame a President (including Obama) for everything that happens on his watch. But in this case you can track specific actions or inactions to specific results and Obama himself is responsible for much of this mess. And the liberals in Congress are responsible for the rest of it
It’s always someone else’s fault with this guy. You just know when he was a little kid, he’d hold his breath and turn blue if he didn’t get his way. Heck, he probably still does that, whaaaa.
Our Fourth Estate (media) is openly Fifth Column now. Truth and the historic record began diverging a long time ago. And an increasing number of the electorate, mostly victims of public education, have never been given the skills to distinguish between the two.
He must have forgot this when he was taking bows during his last State of the Union address.
I know this has been said 1,000 times, but HOW did this country elect such a man to the office of the Presidency?
That is really what upsets me more than almost any of this bad news sometimes.
He is not a man. A man accepts responsibility.
What a clueless wimp! Does he think mature voters go for his snot-nosed whining every day? We have never had such a weak little sissy in the presidency before B. Hussein.
Has anyone noticed that the spin has recently taken a thin, desperate tone? I’m almost disappointed. Baghdad Bob kept it up while the reporters at the press conferences could hear the planes and bombs in the distance.
The fool said he owned it because he believed in his unicorns and rainbows.
Don’t worry, the next few unemployment reports will be stellar, reflecting very robust growth. The media will pump it for all it’s worth. All the morons in the electorate, sadly a majority now, will eat it up and again vote enthusiastically for Zero. Then, the jobless numbers for June-September will be unexpectedly and dramatically revised downward on Wednesday, November 7. And the media will sleep well, with the knowledge that they pulled it off again.
It is going to be four years that he has had the helm, and he is still trying to blame Bush? Come on! He is like a child in his thinking.
Thinking heads may roll at NBC later this morning. Saturday Today just did a several minutes report on the jobs number and the economy and outside of one lame possible excuse noted and no focus on exactly why there is a jobs problem (Obama’s policies), it was all doom and gloom.
Was watching a show on D-day last night. They showed Eisenhower preparing to send our troops into Normandy and him clearly stating, if this doesn’t work, it will be MY responsibility, and mine only. I will take the blame.
THAT’S how a president is supposed to operate.
Why does not Obama say - well, if we try this stimulus and it doesn’t work, doesn’t result in jobs, it’s my fault. Seems we’ll never hear such a thing out of HIM.
He is simply NOT presidential material.
