I’ll sit at a drive thru. I’ll sit there behind fifteen other cars instead of getting up to make the eight foot walk to the totally empty counter.

Chick-fil-a is the worst I've seen for that. The drive through line will wrap around the building twice, but you can park, walk in, get to a register with no waiting and be back at your car before the cars have moved three or four slots to the window.

I tried that the other day at a Burger King, but I think the drive-thru people were right - all of the effort was geared towards moving that line, and I think I would’ve been better off on that line. Maybe it was just something they do specifically at lunch time.
