Personally we don’t drink a lot of soda in this house because it doesn’t have any nutritional value

I keep reading comments like this, but it's inaccurate to say that a sugary soda has no nutritional value. There are certainly more nutritious options out there, but a human being's nutritional needs include calories and hydration, both of which technically are available from a sugary soda.

I’ve always heard that carbonation and sugar don’t actually quench the thirst. I know for me, sodas just make me thirstier.
