I’ll have to give Willard credit.
I figured he would be McCainesque: savage conservative opponents, then handle Zero with kid gloves.
Instead, at least so far, he shows every indication that he will fight tooth and nail.
If Willard were to pick a VP candidate like DeMint, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, or some other solid conservative, I think my detest of Zero would let me overcome my gag reflex and vote for the Republican ticket.
If it’s someone like Doughnut Boy Chris Cristi or Pawlenty, all bets are off.
I never expected this.
Further, I think the portrait of Mitt that has been painted by the Mitt haters here on FR is completely wrong.
Yes, he is somewhat unprincipled and cynical (and he belongs to a bizarre un-Christian church) but he is intelligent, hard-working and ambitious, and he has spent his life surrounded by and making strong connections with quality people.
Mitt Romney wants to be President and he has spent five solid years figuring out how to make that happen and putting together the organization to accomplish it.
I think the Mitt haters grossly underestimate him.
