May or may not be of interest, but I did a search for the map showing 2994 Kalihi St. Turns out I am very familiar with that area and lived a couple of miles from there many years ago. it is a very nice neighorhood up in Kalihi Uka - up near the end of built area, steeper hillsides, fairly remote for Oahu. If someone were to take a bus to that area from say downtown Honolulu, it would have required at least 2 changes of bus and taken over an hour to get there, at least when I used to ride the bus around 1979-80. No idea what buses were like in the 60s.
