Maybe I’ll feature Hayseed Dixie again real soon. They never fail to crack me up ... and yeah, Lyle wins. If that song doesn’t make you hungry, nothing will.

The flagship of the Texas Navy, the battleship Texas celebrates the 100th birthday of its launching this month! One of the few remaining ships that fought in both WWI and WWII the Texas (BB-35) was first launched on May 18, 1912. During WWII she fought in both the Atalntic (providing support during the Normandy invasion at Point Du Hoc) and the Pacific (Iwo Jima and Okinawa). She was handed over to the state of Texas on April 21st, 1948 (San Jacinto Day). She now rests in the Houston Ship Channel near the San Jacinto Battlefield. If you are ever in the Houston area you can take a tour of her after you vist the San Jacinto Monument and battlefield.
