As President Obama and likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney remain locked in a virtual dead heat, is there any room for a third party to make a statement or even be competitive in 2012?
Thats the hope of the Constitution Party and its nominee, Virgil Goode.
Goode says Obamas spending is completely out of control but Republican proposals are also not good enough because he says the budget needs to be balanced now and not in a few years or a couple of generations from now.
I would submit a balanced budget if elected president, and it would be painful, Goode told WND.
He expects a fierce fight with Congress about cutting spending, but his plan would not focus on entitlement reforms. Instead, Goode envisions big cuts in discretionary spending both in the defense and domestic portions of the budget. When it comes to jobs, Goodes top priorities are to end illegal immigration and nearly put a stop to legal immigration in order to prevent foreign workers from competing with Americans for the job opportunities that exist.
Weve got to focus on discretionary spending, social-services programs. For instance, Ill make sure illegals and recent immigrants dont get food stamps, said Goode.
Goode says he would also seek to repeal Obama administration regulations that he says are stifling job creation. He would start with the Obama health care-laws which Goode considers the most repressive to job creators. The former congressman says he is not a spoiler in the race but is a much needed voice on fiscal responsibility, ending government programs for illegal immigrants and other issues.

If I don’t vote for BHO, I am a racist.
If I don’t vote for Romney, I am a religious bigot.
If I don’t vote for a liberal, (wait those are my only choices) - vote for a liberal D or vote for a liberal R.
Sorry, I don’t vote for liberals.
Bears repeating.
You are pretending that there is no difference between not voting for Romney and actively campaigning against him on a conservative board.
You and everyone else here knows that there is a huge difference between the two.
It is this willful dishonesty of yours that shows you to be engaged in something other than conservative political activism.
No honey, I am engaged in conservative political activism because I do not blindly support liberals.
It is you that supports the liberal called Romney, clearly that is not in support of conservative political activism. Your support of liberals called Republicans is telling.
Indeed, my thanks to all of you for sharing your views and insights. Many of us are "old timers" on this forum and have joined together in myriad conservative causes. I appreciate your thoughts and concerns.
Despite his claim to being Christian, Obama's administration is the most anti-Christianity, anti-Israel and pro-Islam known to me.
Truly, I hope my brothers and sisters in Christ will consider how the geopolitical anti-Israel dominoes have been set up under this administration - and seek God's will before casting a vote.
Concerning the present general election, I'd again like to observe that the upcoming GOP convention will be an excellent opportunity to gauge how serious Romney is about his conservative claims in the primary. His choice of a running mate will be important as will be the platform, speeches and statements made in the convention.
There will be plenty of time to rehearse so I suspect the whole dog and pony show will be quite revealing.
My prayer is that God's will be done in this election.
Goode = Obama victory.
His positions are irrelevant. He is just a ralph nader.
His entire victor is based on a devil buying ice skates.
There’s no way back for the country as long as Christians keep supporting what they say they hate.
You are promoting Obama’s re-election and lying about doing so.
This is not conservative political activism.
The next President will be either Obama or Romney.
There is nothing Christian about willfully ignoring this fact.
And there is certainly nothing Christian about preferring that Obama beat Romney, actively campaigning to make this so, and then lying about it.
You can say “the Republican Party” did this to us until you are blue in the face, but WE have done this to ourselves. We split our conservative vote between multiple candidates, letting the organized, financially backed liberal/moderate take the nomination.
We stand a VERY good chance of having Republican majorities in the House and Senate. I would rather have a Republican Moderate President to approve Paul Ryan’s budgets than a Communist with media backing fighting us every inch of the way.
Mind reader alter!
I’m not reading your mind.
I am describing your actions.
You say crazy useless things because there are no rational, substantive things you can possibly say to convince people that they should prefer for Obama to win re-election in November.
Indeed. But the fact of the matter is that no matter what happens in this election GOD'S WILL WILL BE DONE.
There is a soverignty of God issue that a lot of Christians seem to ignore as the cower in fear of an Obama re-election to the point where they actually bend their own standards and sacrifice their own principles not to do God's will, but to assuage their fears.
The fact of the matter is that God has given this nation 4 years of Obama. If God did not want Obama to be our President, it would never have happened. And God may very well want us to have another 4 years of an Obama presidency to bring all of us to our knees.
FWIW while I certainly would prefer that Obama be tossed out of Office as soon as possible, I also recognize that Obama is the president that God has chosen to occupy that office at least until January 21, 2013. If God wills that he continue in that office then neither my vote nor anyone else's on this forum is going to change that.
With that being said, I cannot fathom any logical reason for God to allow Obama to remain as president except to teach America a lesson on where it needs to place it's faith and to remind us daily of our need to turn to God rather than to politicians to solve our problems and to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.
Romney is an absolute NO VOTE for me. He has been politically aligned with Planned Parenthood and the Gay Lobby for decades. I will not sacrifice my principles as a Christian to vote FOR Romney as president because he has been against everything I believe in for decades. I also am not going to cast a vote against Obama merely on the premise that I fear what he can do to America. I have no fear of what Obama can do for America simply because I believe what Jesus said to Pilate, that he would have no power at all if it were not given to him by His Father.
So I trust that whatever Power Obama has is power given to him by God. Proverbs 21:1 says clearly that the the heart of the ruler "is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will."
So I do not fear Obama. I fear God. I fear that God has chosen this generation of Americans to be used as an instrument in his hands for judgment. If I sacrifice my own principles to vote for Romney merely because he isn't Obama then what have I gained? What will America gain if every Christian sacrifices their principles and votes for a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual lobby president merely because we fear that if we don't sacrifice our principles on the alter of expediency, then God will give us 4 more years of what God has already given us?
Will God reward us for our cowardice. I think not. Will he reward us for sticking to our principles even if it means we may face another 4 years of judgment on our nation? I think so.
That being said, I don't think the 1% of people who might vote their principles is going to make any difference. I think that enough Christians are more than willing to sacrifice their principles on the alters of fear and expediency and will vote for Romney regardless of his political history and his long commitment to things we know to be abominations in the sight of God.
Romney will probably be elected. He will not be elected with my vote. Further a Romney election will not stave off any judgment that God has planned for this nation. We can only stave off that judgment by sticking to our principles and being more in fear of God than in fear of Obama. Romney is not our savior. Let us not forget that.
Well said.
((((clapping)))
Lies.
Which makes you a perfect little Romney drone.
There is nothing Christian about willfully ignoring this fact.
Only if Christians follow your unprincipled counsel and vote for what they say they hate.
