We were presented the slate of candidates that we have had because that is the way that the gop/e wanted it and they worked very hard at manipulating the primary system in varying ways to accomplish their goals. Do I think that a true Conservative that is not part of the gop/e machine... beltway mentality would be polling better... by honest pollsters... yes I do. romney may very well lose to obama... and I blame prebeius and company for every single reason that this is the worst election of our lifetime.

No Conservative would ever vote for obama... but some of us cannot vote for mitt. We will vote down ballot and I have sent money to those deposing the gop/e elites... and I am sending money to Conservative candidates... but you and the gop/e can finance and drag mitt across the finish line... if romney fails... blame the leadership of the gop... for they alone have manufactured our predicament.

Well I agree with everything you say but fact remains that we did not have a conservative that could beat Obama in the race this go-around. Sarah Palin would have crushed Romney in the primaries regardless of the gop/e machine and would have gone on to easily beat Obama but for reasons only known to her, she didn't get into the ring.

Of the conservatives that did get into the race, well, we saw what happened. Michelle Bachmann tanked. Cain self-destructed. Santorum failed to inspire and Gingrich, well, let's put it this way, Gingrich did not have the support of conservatives, period. Take Wyoming, probably the most conservative state in the nation, Gingrich got less than 1% of the vote in their caucus. In the Deep South, where Gingrich was supposed to be strongest, with the exception of SC and GA, he fared very poorly. Conservatives just didn't support him.
