And don't expect people to wise up and vote them out either. Detroit has been Democratic for at least 40 years, and continues to spiral down into third world poverty. Yet the leadership continues to be elected and lives large at the citizen's expense. Such an arrangement pretty much defines third world politics, where a wealthy ruling class is disconnected from the people, but connected to the wealthy somewhere else.
What occurs is concentration. Those that profit from the system stay, those who don’t escape and the concentration of Dem voters increases. It keeps the Dems in power locally, but if we could get the Constitution kick started and reign in the FEDGOV these cities/counties would be done in a year or less.
You’d see Democrats looking mighty conservative and pronto.
