Senate gears up for Law of the Sea Treaty push
“The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has scheduled a hearing next week on the decades-old international Law of the Sea Treaty, confirming the Senate’s desire to try again for ratification after failing five years ago.
The treaty is championed by the State and Defense departments, which argue that the treaty would create a new legal framework for the peaceful resolution of territorial disputes. It has already been signed by more than 160 countries.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin Dempsey are all slated to testify Wednesday, underscoring that ratification is a priority for the administration. The Senate is expected to take it up this summer.”
Just think what Obama will do in his second term...
Even if he gets one -- not much. Not after we get through with his Senate golfing buddies.
That's why he's pushing LOST forward now, to beat us to the punch. Well, guess what, folks -- get busy!
Leon Panetta, the chief of the Gorbachev disarmament movement is behind it? Naw can’t be!
