You act as if unconstitutional court opinions give the officers of the other branches a legitimate excuse to fail to do their own primary duty.

You’re displaying the symptoms of a full-blown case of judicial supremacism.

Which is anti-republican, and entirely unconstitutional.

Not an uncommon ailment in today’s Republican Party.

So how do you suggest we ban abortions in all states? Constitutional amendment? Supreme Court majority that strikes down all state laws permitting abortion? Overturn Roe v. Wade and then expect all 50 states to ban abortion? Which of those three ways--and those are the only three I can come up with at the moment--which do you think is most realistic and attainable? Or do you have some other way?

I think the best-case and most realistic scenario we can get in the near future is to have a SC majority that will overturn Roe v. Wade and return the matter to the states (the situation prior to 1973) and then have as many states as possible outlaw abortion--which could be most of the states, but not all. And that would be a whole lot better than the situation now.

There is zero chance of that happening with Obama. There is some chance of that happening with a President Romney and a Republican Senate. That's the best I can see right now.

Romney has said he wants to nominate justices like Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito and that he wants to see Roe v. Wade overturned, which would enable the states once again to have laws against abortion. That is the exact opposite of Obama’s position. Do you have a better idea that will actually go anywhere and do anything? That will get us any laws against abortion nationally or in any of the states? I’d really like to hear it.
