People ask the same thing today. Technically WWJD isn’t a good question here. Until the time for the Cross came up, Jesus was always able to walk peacefully through hostile crowds. Jesus’ final instructions to the disciples before being betrayed were to take a couple of swords, and these weren’t for sabre dances. Jesus knew that they would not always have a hatful of miracles to call on like He did. So what would turning the other cheek and walking the second mile mean? I think it would mean to accommodate demanding people as long as the situation did not become unsustainable, or you would have to sin or leave other valid commitments undone. Pushy people and frank bullies aren’t the same thing.

My reply was a comment to the pompous knuckledragger who called everyone who's been bullied and intimidated a coward. Of course there's a time to stand up for one's self and fight. But to deny the harm that bullies do is ridiculous - especially since they are empowered by the punish-the-victim monsters that call themselves teachers and administrators.

There are seriously screwed up kids out there because these monsters have attacked their very right to self-defense, and left them vulnerable to savage abuse. To not acknowledge the psychological results of that sabotage of the human psyche is to miss the very reason those totalitarians are doing it to the kids in the first place.

LOL.....A) I'm sure as hell not pompous... B) I'm certainly no "knuckledragger"....and C) Show me ONE place in this or any other thread where I "called everyone who's been bullied and intimidated a coward." Go ahead. I'll wait.

Whoa there, hoss.......hold the phone. First, this may shock you, but I agree with your point here completely...BUT...you can't have it both ways. You JUST bolstered my original point, and you put it clearly in writing.

Kids should either stand up and, when necessary, defend themselves as YOU just stated.....or they should turn the other cheek. Which is it? Pick a side, any side.....but pick ONE.
