The federal administrative laws and regulations applied to Gibson Guitar are the soft underbelly of our Constitution. Under English common law, which serves as the basis for our Constitution, a person is innocent and not subject to the penalties of the law until proved guilty. Under administrative law like Roman civil law a person is subject to its penalties and restrictions until they discover a way to legally extricate themselves.

This country no longer subscribes to the concept that preserving human freedom must be a precondition to any discussion about how or if an activity should be regulated.

Pursuit of happiness first means seeking spiritual prosperity within the hazards and uncertainties of personal freedoms. Politicians and bureaucrats were never meant to care for us by requiring our subservience to rules vastly increasing their power.

You know as an ol' timer (68 years and going strong) I can remember hearing about the FBI coming down on organized criminals and the Dept of Justice going after foreign agents spying on us, the ATF busting some hillbilly making moonshine, the ATF going after someone who possessed a machine gun, the DEA breaking up some meth lab or pot field and in the past 20 years or so, the EPA rearing its ugly head.....

....but I'll be damned if we hardly (if ever) heard about the Dept of the Interior, Army Corps of Engineers, Dept of the Agriculture, Bureau of Land Management, Dept. of Energy, Dept of Transportation, Commerce Dept, Dept of Education or least of all, Fish and Wildlife (WHO BTW, JUST HAPPEN TO ALL HAVE THEIR OWN "SWAT TEAMS") taking on a life of their own, with what appears to be a Crusade (that's to drive any Moonbats crazy who happens to be lurking) against honest, hard working folks with no other intentions, than to make everyone's life miserable.

Talk about your Central-Planning, Nanny-Statist, Big-Gubmint, Out-of-Control, Bureaucracies.

I predict that sooner, rather than later, when "we the people" have had enough, there will be a "push back,"" and it ain't gonna' be purty!!!
