I’ve posed the same question to an election-strategy expert (that would be me) and the best explanation that he (that would be me) can give is that, since McCain was born in the Canal Zone, he (that would be McCain) realized that raising the question would lead to a counter-argument that he also was not a natural-born citizen.

My election-strategy expert has also posed the question as to why the Clinton’s did not run with this story - you know that they had to have uncovered it. What does Obama have on the Clinton’s? Perhaps he knows what Sandy Berger really extracted from the National Archives? There’s so many possibilities

Clintons didn’t push the ineligibility question because it would have backfired. The First Black President’s wife would have been called a racist.

Remember the lines of black voters half-mile long waiting to vote, just in the primaries?

Hillary was sunk. Nothing she could do.
