Heh, we had open lunch in the 80's and all the kids knew that there was a store a block from the HS that sold smokes to minors. No questions asked. In fact I'd wager they even let a couple of malt liquors "slide" as well.

I went back recently and the store is still there.

:-) I think that every town has a store or 2 like that.

I was thinking about this yesterday. When I was in HS, what kids got for sodas, more often than not, was the "Liter" bottle. It was the cool thing to do.

So, Instead of having a can of Coke out of the machine at lunch.....

We went and got something three times as big. When we were supposed to be in class. And usually smoked a Marlboro while we drink the illicit soda on the way back to school.

Like I said. Law of unintended consequences is amazing.
