I guess you missed the part where the investigation is being done by Romney and his "trusted aides".

Culvahouse, a lawyer in the Washington office of Los Angeles-based OMelveny & Myers. No other candidate, not even the presidential nominee himself, is subjected to the same scrutiny.
AND...I'll bet the "vettees" will be just a leetle bit reluctant to give all that secret and confidential information to Mitt's "lawyers and advisors"...
Mitt has shown NO reluctance to use the dirtiest tactics against other Republicans, and IF he is elected will have a tidy little pot of of gold to use against any future candidates in the next election...or to hand off to his chosen successor.
I doubt very much I would waste a vote on anyone dumb enough to accept these terms set by Mitt. This ought to give us a read on who is easily hornswoggled and write them off in the future.
