There's a tidal wave of advertising in favor of both of the proposed California tax hikes on the way. It wouldn't surprise me if both passed and I would be surprised if the tax hike on people making more than $250k didn't pass. A large number of voters in CA pay no taxes and therefore have no compunctions about raising taxes on those who earn their livings.
