If you were on the threads that were bashing JR to his face and slamming FR, I seem to have missed your wise words about "all this ugliness is diluting a major force that should instead be united in one goal." How about posting links to posts to the bashers in which you were battling this "ugliness", OK?

Sorry, greyfoxx, but I simply don’t know what you’re talking about. I was not on the threads you mentioned, so no need to yell at me now. I tune out discord, so if you were fighting, even righteously, I wasn’t involved.
That’s probably why a lot of good folks have left FR, because we just hate the nastiness. Conservatives tend to be nice people, prone to politeness, which in politics can work against us.

I have tremendous respect for what JR has done in creating and maintaining Free Republic. He has done much more than I ever will to advance the conservative political cause, and I applaud him for it.
From what I gather, his verbal fits and zotting are an attempt to bring the recent nastiness to a head and eject those responsible. That’s good.
Maybe things can get back to normal in time for the summer and fall campaign.
