You mean like being politically active in the 1980s, supporting democrats in the late 1980s and early 1990s? A past Senate campaign, and a failed governorship, where he could not run for reelection, left office with 34% approval, and wiped out the state's GOP?
Romney's entire life and his family life tell us what Romney really is, that is not merely "equal" in weight to his instantly reversing himself on everything in preparation for his presidential run.
Do you really think that at age 59, Romney, a long time politician and long active in politics and fund raising, son of a 3 term governor and presidential candidate, and having a Senate candidate mother, having joined his father in protest against conservatism at the 1964 convention, and refusing to vote for Reagan during the 1980s, suddenly had a stroke in 2006, and became totally different, a reversed mirror image of his 59 year old self, just as he was announcing that he was running for president?
I don't really know what Romney's core political ideology is, or whether he even has one.
However, Romney is running as a conservative now and if he gets elected President, and if the GOP controls both houses of Congress, then I think we will get more conservative policies and appointments than we would get from Obama.
