Bugging in 250 gallons of water should last us about 50 days as when camping we use about five gallons a day I know because I haul it when the tank is empty. The water in my tote migh at worse go ‘flat’, but that can be fix by just dumping it from container to container.

Most americans don't camp. I can live and have on 3 gallons a day, but it takes serious water discipline to do that.

You can do it, and I can do it, and probably neither of us has to. But those that have to, and have never done it? They are going to suffer.

That is my concern. If you don't have local water available, and you aren't familiar with roughing it, and you don't have a way to clean water, you may die.
