I have lighters. I have matches. I have batteries and steel wool. I can start a fire with two angry boy scouts.

There are millions of ways to start a fire. Learn them.

Tinder is the key to it. I know of 8 different plants around here that will have a bone dry fiberous pith in a pouring rain. And that is what you need.

Fire = fuel, O2, heat.

God gives us enough O2 in the atmosphere, so that is covered.

Dry fuel, or tinder can be hard to get in a rain storm, but it is available.

Heat, or at least a spark can come from many different sources.

Sounds like what you need is a hands-on mentor that can show you how, and correct your errors.

That's how I learned. Reading only takes you so far. You have to do it.

We’ve been saving dryer lint in ziplock bags as “tinder”.

It damn sure can start a fire in your dryer, if you don’t clean it out regularly.

(thanks for this prepper posting, whoever started it—have learned a lot.)
