These people are nuts. Reid says Republicans are the problem about bringing up the Defense of Marriage Act. Huh? DOMA was passed by a huge majority in the Senate and House and signed by President Clinton in ‘95. So a position taken 15 years ago about a social requirement of the last 8000 years is a problem because some people have decided in the last 5 years that if you don’t agree with their new sophisticated position, you are a bigot.
By the way, more Obama hypocrisy. He complained that if the Supreme Court overturned obamacare, it would be an “unprecedented” action by a few judges on legislation passed by a majority. Yet, his DOJ wants to take DOMA to the SC to overturn it, even though it really was passed with a huge bipartisan majority and signed by a democrat president.
If you go back to 1860...the Democratic Convention ended up in a total mess because half of the delegates really didn’t agree on what was put in front of them. They eventually ended up with two Democratic parties for a short time.
The problem I see here is that we are evolving in a sense where a number of Democrats really can’t agree with the “new” national Democratic vision. Their only choice is to accept the change...or just stay home.
