You can say that again! In spades!
David Dewhurst has never claimed to be some kind of conservative activist,...
That a good thing because he, very definitely, isn't one!
... but neither is he the liberal you are unsuccessfully trying to make him out to be.
Show me where I ever said he was a liberal. I haven't! All I have ever said is that he is NOT conservative and he isn't by your own admission above! WE DON'T NEED ANY MORE FOLKS LIKE DEWHURST IN WASHINGTON! There are quite enough of them there already thank you!
David Dewhursts stands on the issues are well-known and you know as well as I that he will work to get a Constitutional Amendment to balance the federal budget and repeal Obamacare, and stop the green-energy scam and allow domestic energy production, and reign in the excesses of EPA and NLRB and NEA, and that he is very pro-life, and would vote in the Senate every bit as conservatively on the issues, if not more so, than Cruz.
Uh! Sorry! No I don't know that! He is FAR to prone to [[[gulp]]] COMPROMISE for my liking!
I think David Dewhurst personality and leadership skills and speaking skills and experience would make him far more effective Senator than Cruz, and I trust David Dewhurst to represent the interests of the State of Texas and Texan people more.
Personality? Leadership skills? SPEAKING skills? Are you serious or are you trying out for court jester?
Well, even though your six sentence post did not address the points one by one that I made for you in post #58 demonstrating that Lt. Gov. is a conservative, I will still respond to your post, now as I choose to.
Immature minds despise compromise, but without it, the world would come to a standstill. If I cannot have it 100% my way and you cannot have it 100% yours, perhaps there is a middle ground we can both accept. It is as simple as that, and every day and in every way in our lives we are compromising, adjusting, and adapting in order to get the things done with others that need to be done.
It was you that equated Dewhurst with the admittedy liberal Strauss. And in my opinion, we need even less folks like Cruz in Washington right now. Let’s keep Cruz in Texas where good use can be made of his enormous lawyering ability.
As far as your “court jester” line goes, Lt. Gov. Dewhurst has leadership, and executive, ability as his success in the private sector and in government demonstrate, so his past actions have given us reasons to believe he can lead. Again, are you claiming some more insider knowledge to knock Lt. Gov. Dewhurst’s winning personality? And I have personnally heard Dewhurst speak and when he did speak, he spoke well.
