The Washington Post has a very readable look at the prep school Mitt Romney attended when his father was governor of Michigan, and the name of it may have sounded familiar to astute rap nerds.
In the climactic, final freestyle in Eminem's 2002 "8 Mile," his character, B-Rabbit, battles the leader of a rival rap crew called Leader of the Free World, Papa Doc, played by Anthony Mackie.
B-Rabbit has a black eye from the whole crew jumping him. He's lost his girl. And Papa Doc is the most feared freestyler in the land. But B-Rabbit has done his opposition research. He knows a shocking secret about Papa Doc that completely derails his street cred, and reveals it in front of a packed house. B-Rabbit raps:
Don't never try to judge me dude You don't know what the f--- I've been through But I know something about you You went to Cranbrook, that's a private school
"Ohhhhhhhhhh!" says everyone in the crowd. B-Rabbit continues:

“Turns out that the source was an Obama staffer, and the family of the so-called victim says it is factually inaccurate.”
The kid who was supposedly “bullied” by Romney has been dead for several years. I had read that his family denounced the story as “factually incorrect” and “to further a political agenda”. I had not heard an Obama staffer was the source for the story. Do you know who the staffer is? What is his name?

The PALINIZATION of Romney has begun...
With Mitty running around saying he supports gay couples adopting children, it ain't gonna be hard.

FYI, Rep. John Conyers' children attend(ed) Cranbrook. I found this when I Googled it to confirm my recollections:
"John Conyers, if we may quote convicted felon Monica Conyers, needs to control his own house. According to Finley, (of the Detroit News) its not appropriate for a guy bribing the wife of House Judiciary Chairman to pay for said Chairmans childrens tuition at Cranbrook."

Eminem is the one who made the video back in 2004 portraying Cheney suffering a heart attack when a bunch of thugs march on the White House.

Haven't seen the movie since I don't like rap.
However "8 Mile" is historically the border between "White" Oakland and Macomb Counties, and Black Detroit during the 80's and 90's.

It's a stupid attack. Romney is a rich businessman and a son of a rich businessman who sent him to Cranbrook. If Romney tried to portray himself as a working class guy, this would be an issue, but as much as he's an etch a sketch, he's never claimed to be anything but a rich businessman in this case. (although he didn't inherit his money). He's not John Kerry.

“He’s not John Kerry.”
You mean John “Can I git me a huntin’ license heyah?” Kerry?
You mean John “Jeeves, I should enjoy a peanut butter & jelly sandwich now” Kerry?
You mean John “I betrayed my brothers in arms and 30 years later I want to pose as a war hero” Kerry?
I once again salute the Swift Boat Vets for saving this country from 4-8 years of this deceitful, treasonous phony as president.
They couldn’t save us from Obama, but at least they saved us from Kerry. Another America-hater imho.
