Expect Dr. David Scheiner, MD will be slapped with violation of patient privacy and sundry federal charges courtesy Eric Holders office in the near future. Its all to predictable.
Depending on how the doctor came to his conclusions, I do not think that is necessarily out of line. I hate to say this, but I think that even Obama is entitled to the privacy protections in the Doctor-Patient relationship.
Now, if the same doctor entered his observations in that great big database, and it got leaked by a third party with access to same... well ... the irony of the poetic justice would not escape me.

I hate to say this, but I think that even Obama is entitled to the privacy protections in the Doctor-Patient relationship. I agree. And yes, it depends how this information got out. But people cannot confide in their doctors, priests, lawyers, etc., if they cannot trust that what they say will remain between them.

A personal opinion about the character of a patient does not violate confidentiality.
After all, he didn't confirm that he treated Obama for genital warts in his anus or Gonorrhea in his throat. OOPS...That was supposed to be confidential...
