Republican Mitt Romney took the White House race into uncharted waters, suggesting he would like to challenge President Barack Obama to a bit of waterskiing.
"I don't think I'll play the president a round of golf but I'll be happy to take him through a waterski course," the presumptive presidential nominee said on Fox News on Thursday when asked whether he was as "hip" as the commander-in-chief.
"We have different skills and different interests and different hobbies," said the former Massachusetts governor and multimillionaire venture capitalist.

Water skiing is where the Fonz blew it too.

LOL! Is this coming from the whole Biden “ahead of his skis” comment?
Good. Maybe while he’s out there Obama will finally jump the shark in the eyes of all of those idiots who voted for him in 2008.
(With most of us he did that long ago. Actually, he never even got on the skis in the eyes of most of us.)
So Mitt, buddy.....you’re rich, you’ve done well in business....but you know squat about marketing.
Do NOT fall into the stupid trap of playing their silly “boxers or briefs/how hip art thou” games. That’s for kids. Be a grown up. You know how to do it. Take it from a pro of nearly 30 years in sales and marketing. Play YOUR game, play to YOUR strengths, and always, always answer one question....and one question alone: Why should people give a damn you exist?
Sounds harsh, but trust me, sir........the best advice you’ll get this entire campaign.

They have to add those last 4 words, as if it’s not honest money, don’t they?
Romney’s not timid.
Obama’s got himself a real contest this time.
Now about that VP pick, Mr. Romney...

Even if I had alzheimer’s I bet I’d once again remember why I hate campaign season.
Obama: “Oh Yeah??! Well, I challenge you, Romney, to do a few lines of blow and maybe some smack, if we can afford it.”
I’d prefer a candidate who could put forth a plan that would reduce gonernment and balance the budget. But they don’t care for Newt’s sports, we just get crap about watersking and golf, the way the countrys heading watersking and golf will probably be banned.
Obama has permanently damaged the office and image of the Presidency.
obama won’t need waterskis, don’t forget libs believe he walks on water.
I think the less Romney talks, the better his chances. The incumbent is encumbered with the task of convincing people he should get a second chance in spite of the horrible economy. Romney doesn’t need to do anything but keep pointing out how bad things are. Attacks on Romney are just distractions and I think he would be better off to just laugh or ignore them. No response is necessary.
I bet Romney could play him a mean round of polo or cricket too.
OMG! what a self centered dangus.
I wouldn’t play a round of golf with Obama either. He’s had a LOT of practice these past 3.5 years...
The only true, fair competition between these two, is who can sell the most crap sandwiches.
Oh, but a response IS necessary.....definitely; but NOT to such idiotic questions from “reporters” regarding golf or water skiing or type of underwear or favorite color.
If you’re going to take the heavyweight crown, you need a knockout, not a win by points per round. People vote FOR something, and a candidate that merely points out the (often) many and varied weaknesses and failures of his or her opponent is not scoring a knockout.
Romney has to “respond” not in kind, but in his own voice, his own skin; his own strategy for differentiating himself and the direction he’d take this country vs. the gay, Muslim, Socialist moron currently occupying the White House. He does this, he wins. He doesn’t.....he loses. It’s that simple.
