i've still got my DraftCard

So do I.

.From 1972.

And I can produce it, my birth certificate and my original Social Security card within five minutes of anyone asking me for them.

And I am older than Obama.

me too, but it'll take me longer than five minutes on the BC as it's in my safety deposit box at the bank...

I don’t think I have my draft card. I probably threw it away after I enlisted in the Army. I figured that my active duty ID card made me safe from being drafted for not having it on me.

Not me, but I was drafted so why keep the damn draft card?

In fairness to the draft board, I volunteered for the draft {that was common and it just moved your name to the top of the list without adding an additional year of service}.

The Army draftees had dog tag numbers that started with US while guys that signed up had RA {Regular Army} and back then it was two years vs three years.

We were stationed in Germany and thought we were "short timers" but JFK extended us by six months because of the commies Berlin blockade.
