The reporter said it was a German Luger. He may have simply meant ‘handgun’. You know how reporters are sticklers for those sorts of things.

Yeah....probably in his last story he referred to a Daisy BB Gun as an UZI, so he was just trying to be ‘safe’ here.
The one ‘story’ (in the comments) of the guy ‘finding’ a Luger on the battle field does sound plausible but don’t count on the ‘reporter’ thinking along these lines.
