Jon Lovitz chatted with Bill O’Reilly on Wednesday about Lovitz’s profane comments about President Obama.
O’Reilly pegged the remarks as “disrespectful” — acknowledging Lovitz’s perspective, but asserting that anyone in the office of the presidency deserves to be respected.
“You were kind of disrespectful,” O’Reilly said. “Do you feel bad about that?”
“No, because you have to put it in context,” Lovitz replied, specifying that he’s a comedian, and the nature of that is to be “just open and honest.” What you can’t say on television, you can say in a private club, he said.
O’Reilly agreed, but noted that in today’s day and age, everything’s instantly shared online. Even though he’s “sympathetic,” he said, “I want the presidency, the office to be respected. I don’t want those people using those kinds of terms to describe any president. Do you see my point?”

When I first heard the Lovitz rant and he said, "I voted for the guy and I'm a Democrat. What a [effing a-hole]", my first thought was that Lovitz was ridiculing HIMSELF for having voted for the guy.
My mis-interpretation made sense to me because everybody should have known that the Organizer-in-Chief was a communist who would attack the wealthy at every opportunity.
It is Lovitz who deserves to be ridiculed for having voted for him despite the clear record. Or, to paraphrase Lovitz, "What an effing a-hole!"
I stopped watching OR when he pompously proclaimed that nobody needed an "assault weapon", obviously confusing the made-up, ambiguously defined term "assault weapon" with the military term "assault rifle".
Despite the fact that the anti-gunners intended this confusion, OR should know better. His willingness to support laws which outlaw a rifle simply because it has a three-ounce plastic hand grip on it, reveals OR to be a bloviator, willing to expound on topics about which he is truly ignorant.
Interesting! Tried to google info about it but couldn't find any. Maybe it's been scrubbed or buried. Do you have any links to the info? I vaguely feel like I may have seen the info somewhere maybe back in '08.
I don’t remember where I found it but it was during the run up to the 2008 election. It has probably been scrubbed.
Actually all you really hear is Big mouth O’s opinion since he overtalks all his guests.
