Leftist leader Alexis Tsipras gave up his attempt to form a new government on Wednesday, pushing Greece closer to its second election in a few weeks, after voter rejection of an EU/IMF bailout plunged the country into crisis.

Last Sunday's election, in which voters vented rage against mainstream parties over debt cutting measures imposed in exchange for the bailout, has caused deep political deadlock and brought European threats to eject Greece from the euro.

Wonder how the Eurocrats will "convince" the Greeks to support the 2 traditional parties that agreed to the austerity/bailout package.

I doubt anyone will be able to at this point. Frankly, Greece needs to go out of the Eurozone.

The paradox is; the average Greek wants the € and all the goodies, but they don’t want the austerity. It’s a Catch-22, and they simply can’t have it both ways.

If I ran the EU, I’d tell the Greeks, “Here’s the deal. You signed the contract, now live up to it, or else we’re claiming the antiquities, and selling your worthless patooties back to the Turks; I hear they’ll give us a good deal.”

Let them scream; the Greeks are beyond useless. Until the 1980s, they were a broke-@$$ country, and it looks like they’re going back to being a broke-@$$ country.
