And she ran him over and drove off. Yet she’s not at fault?

That’s a stunning lack of appreciation of civic responsibility and the law.

Regardless if she had the right of way (he was in the street) or he had the right of way (he was on a sidewalk or driveway) it is illegal to strike someone with a vehicle and leave the scene, particularly if the person is injured.

You’re also judging this based on her recounting of events whereas the husband is in the hospital, unconscious.

Yes, I agree, if she drove off, it’s a hit and run no matter who was at fault. I guess I missed that part on my first reading.

Still, the guy seems like a moron if he tried to stop a car with his body. That is not a physics problem you want to find the solution to by experimentation.
