Oh definitely. That is their next step. Always is. I wonder how they will address the civil unions. That is going to be interesting. A man and woman living together for 30 years will now be considered single. Changes taxes, wills, hospital visits, and all kinds of stuff. Although on a positive, if they are together for a long period and break up, they don’t have to pay or split anything. Some straight folks will find this a good thing especially those about to break up.

Only a few municipalities have some form of “civil union” for unmarried couples, and none of those statutes has been in place very long. Unmarried romantic couples - or any group of two or more people who want a formal legal relationship, including inheritance, medical decision-making, and so forth - have the legal tools to do so irrespective of their unmarried status, and any competent estates attorney can arrange the legalities according to the specific needs of the people.

NC has never had “Civil Unions” for a man and woman. That garbage was reserved for homosexuals. This law does away with it. Thanks be to God. The degenerates losing big time.

What makes you think the amendment changes all of those things? And has marriage become obsolete?
