A proposed resolution to commend the Boy Scouts of America on its 102nd anniversary died today in an Assembly committee because the measure did not urge the group to accept gays and lesbians.
Instead, the Assembly Judiciary Committee passed a separate resolution that applauded the Boy Scouts but said its policy against accepting homosexuals is harmful and discriminatory -- and should be reconsidered.
The measure that passed, crafted by committee Chairman Mike Feuer, D-Los Angeles, encouraged the group to "accept for membership and leadership positions all qualified boys and men, without discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation or religious beliefs."
Assemblyman Mike Morrell, R-Rancho Cucamonga, wrote the resolution that died in the committee by a party-line vote, supported by Republicans. He said he simply wanted his Assembly Concurrent Resolution 94 to commend the group for its many good deeds, not to make the issue political.

My automobile purchases are political (I am reluctant to buy UAW products and will boycott GM and Chrysler forever because of the corrupt bailout).Amen to that.
My few restaurant meals are political (I don't eat in restaurants owned by Obama voters, and I know which ones those are).Do you happen to have any quick links to help inform me?
While I like fast food at Chik-fil-A for their Christian policies, I don't know much else about national chains. For the restaurants I visit, I personally know the owners in every case. Restaurants are a local issue for me rather than a national question on franchises in most cases.
So the Dem says “all qualified men and boys” should be accepted. Well, mentally ill sex perverts are by definition not qualified...
It seems to me that the majority of what goes on would have been considered too far out for fiction fifty years ago. The Obama presidency is approximately equivalent to what would have happened had we elected a German spy who refused to document his birth or anything else about his past during WWII.
Actually, they were grown men dressed up as Cub Scouts - boys that would be between the ages of 6 to about 10 1/2. This was accounted as humor and "Sir" Elton John refused to apologize for it (not even one of those fake "I'm sorry if anyone was offended" apologies).
Right. It was fairies made up to look like boyscouts. Elton John and his perv “partner” now have a little boy of their own to dress up like a fairie and molest.
