One displays the fortitude, courage and dedication of the author, penned as he sent hundreds of thousands of American into Harm’s Way.
The other, penned before a small group carried out their orders, displays the total lack of the qualities of the first.
How far we have fallen.

That letter is one of two drafted by Ike BEFORE D Day. The other also gave all the credit to “The troops, the air and the Navy”, only he did not resign.

And say what you will about FDR, but I am sure that had the landings failed, he wouldn’t have blamed Eisenhower, or tried to shield himself from responsibility.
